This week’s Advocate Spotlight is Charlette Fornea, LPC. Charlette is the Program Director at ADAPT. She’s also a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor!
Charlette’s favorite thing about being an advocate: “My favorite thing about being an advocate is counseling sexual assault victims so that he/she can cope with the trauma and not have it cripple their lives.”
Challenges for advocacy: “One of the more challenging parts of advocacy is working with evidence collection during the forensic medical examination.”
Fun fact about Charlette: “A fun fact about me is that I am certified in hypnotherapy and law enforcement likes me to help them quit smoking or lose weight while we wait to be called to the witness stand if subpoenaed.”
